國(guó)內(nèi)外大量實(shí)驗(yàn)表明，通過(guò)長(zhǎng)期培養(yǎng)后獲得的骨髓間充質(zhì)干細(xì)胞具有非常廣泛的分化潛能。然而，常用培養(yǎng)基含有胎牛血清（FBS），增加了病原體、異種抗原、批間不穩(wěn)定性。美國(guó)FDA正考慮禁止使用 FBS于細(xì)胞治療。為此，Corning®成功研制了stemgro®，一種無(wú)血清、無(wú)異種蛋白、化學(xué)成分明確的人間充質(zhì)干細(xì)胞培養(yǎng)基。Corning® Stemgro® 化學(xué)成分明確，設(shè)計(jì)用于人體骨髓間充質(zhì)干細(xì)胞的最大程度擴(kuò)增。Stemgro® 化學(xué)成分明確是由于它的成分既沒(méi)有化學(xué)合成，也沒(méi)有重組體生產(chǎn)。人間充質(zhì)干細(xì)胞培養(yǎng)基直接來(lái)源于非人體動(dòng)物細(xì)胞，無(wú)異種蛋白質(zhì)。Stemgro®如果用于一定組織細(xì)胞培養(yǎng)瓶中無(wú)需鋪板蛋白，可以節(jié)約鋪板材料和鋪板時(shí)間。
Corning 關(guān)于Stemgro®的測(cè)試的實(shí)驗(yàn)結(jié)果表明，Stemgro/CellBIND 組合中培養(yǎng)的MSC 細(xì)胞具有最優(yōu)的細(xì)胞增殖能力，和最具一致性的成倍增長(zhǎng)時(shí)間。因此，在較短時(shí)間內(nèi)，Stemgro 可以使研究者獲得更多的細(xì)胞，這對(duì)于臨床研究中而言，將是最好的選擇。

Corning® stemgro® 3335  hMSC Medium 的產(chǎn)品特性
1) 使用Stemgro® 培養(yǎng)基，配合使用CellBIND 培養(yǎng)板，可以不用諸如Fibronectin 等生物基質(zhì)膠進(jìn)行鋪板操作，此款培養(yǎng)基也能使MSC 細(xì)胞很好的粘附并維持其日常增殖和生長(zhǎng)。
2) 對(duì)比10%FBS 組和競(jìng)爭(zhēng)對(duì)手的無(wú)血清培養(yǎng)基，Stemgro® 培養(yǎng)基能使細(xì)胞在較短時(shí)間內(nèi)獲得大量細(xì)胞，即具有優(yōu)異的擴(kuò)增性。
3) Stemgro® 培養(yǎng)基能保證MSC 細(xì)胞的長(zhǎng)梭形細(xì)胞形態(tài)（5 passages）、表面marker 特性、正常染色體組型以及細(xì)胞多能性。
4) 不同來(lái)源的MSC 均能在Stemgro® 培養(yǎng)基中保持相近的細(xì)胞增殖速率。

Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) hold promise for the treatment of a wide variety of diseases. Currently, fetal bovine serum (FBS) is added to the medium to achieve expansion of hMSCs. However, concerns have been raised over animal-born pathogens, immune reactions and lot-to-lot variations caused by the undefined nature of FBS. To address these issues, StemRD has developed Stemgro®, a chemically-defined, serum-free and xeno-free medium for the expansion of hMSCs.
The Stemgro®  Chemically Defined MSC Medium (for simplicity, referred to as “Stemgro” in this document) has been designed for the maximum expansion of human mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from bone marrow, cord blood, or adipose tissue. Stemgro® is chemically defined as its components are either chemically synthesized, recombinantly produced and purified. It can be considered xeno-free as none of its ingredients are directly derived from non-human animals. Stemgro®  further offers the convenience of no plate-coating if used with certain tissue culture vessels (see below), saving cost of coating materials and time needed for coating. This product has the potential of proliferation and differentiation of good, can differentiate into osteoblasts, adipocytes, chondrocytes.
